As the name suggests, the Jackson Pro Series Spectra Bass SBP IV is aimed at professional bassists who frequently play gigs. The 5-piece laminated body is made from poplar burl, walnut, maple, more walnut and mahogany, and sports a Firestorm Fade paint-job that, for bonus cool points, even extends to the paint-matched headstock.

The long horn at the upper bout doesn't just add a menacing look, but helps balance the weight distribution of the body. This, together with the neck-through construction and the 5-piece, graphite-reinforced neck made from maple and walnut, results in optimum manageability, increased resistance to temperature and humidity shifts, and excellent stability. Nimble Playing Feel

The fretboard not only looks beautiful, but the caramelisation process has removed all the moisture from the wood, making the fretboard extra stable. Virtually all Jackson guitars and basses also boast a compound radius, which means that the fretboard gradually flattens out as you navigate higher up the fretboard. This significantly improves playability since there's less friction compared to a rounder fretboard, and makes it easier to pull off more complex parts.
